To participate, each child must be able to use the restroom independently, have completed kindergarten, be able to follow directions and perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance, and be comfortable in a 17:1 camper-to-counselor ratio. Weekly field trips are included in the price of Summer Day Camp, and the Summer Day Camp Resident Youth Scholarship Program offers 35% off the total price of camp for up to two children per family, with scholarship recipients still required to register online through the lottery or during open registration. The program uses a lottery registration system for the 7-week camp, with options for Linked Enrollment so all family members share a single lottery number and, if selected, are offered enrollment at the same location, or Individual Enrollment where each child receives a separate lottery number.

Summer Camp counselors are selected and screened through interviews, background checks, and FDLE Criminal History reports, and the program seeks staff with a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children. Staff receive training in safety, discipline, recreation, sports, and behavior management. EPIC (Exceptional Play In Camp) is an inclusive summer camp within the program for children of varying abilities, provides a 1:4 camper-to-counselor ratio, and has an Inclusive Support Leader on-site at each EPIC location. A Counselor in Training (CIT) program is available for ages 13 to 17 to gain experience working with children in a recreational setting.
